Kryptonite Baby

(26 weeks)
November 10 (27 Weeks)
November 16 (28 Weeks)

I've made it to the third trimester.  Hurray!  I hope this last stretch goes by fast!  I think with Thanksgiving this week and Christmas soon after will make time fly.  Then it's just January and a little bit of February until I get to meet my baby boy.  Seems so strange, and so so exciting!

I had my glucose test and doctor's appointment last week.  I'm not sure when I'll get the results back, but everything seemed to go well.  Baby has been extra wiggly lately and he seems to be growing right on track.  I gained 4 pounds since my last appointment, which brings my total to about 11.  I almost weight as much as Jensen already! I think I'll pass him before baby comes, which I don't like the idea of.  He's just too skinny.

I'm slowly starting to move my way into uncomfortable pregnant lady from cute belly lady who feels good and isn't too tired.  I feel tired all the time, but that's probably because I don't go to bed early enough and I get up early for work.  I am also starting to feel pretty big, but I'm sure in a couple months I'll look at photos and laugh that I ever thought this was big.  I have also been going to the bathroom more and more often.  Luckily I rarely wake up in the middle of the night needing to go.  I am grateful for that.

Lately my lower back has been hurting quite a bit.  I think I need to get a lower back support thing for my chair at work, and a prenatal massage ;).  I have had some heartburn too, but nothing too bad yet.  This little baby seems to want to escape too.  There's one spot in my stomach he constantly kicks or punches so hard!  Occasionally he does it so hard it hurts.  Sometimes I feel like the little baby growing inside me is my kryptonite.  If you know me you know I'm not an exerciser at all, but little baby has made my leg muscles pretty much non existent.  Going up and down stairs is infinitely more difficult now.  Not just because I have a belly to carry along with me, but because my muscles themselves feel so weak.

Sorry if that seemed like a lot of complaining.  I'm really not trying to complain.  Overall I feel really good and am still amazed Jensen and I are going to have a baby. It sometimes feels like this is all a dream and I'll wake up with no belly or kicking baby.

Last week I was craving Arby's (gross? probably) and ice cream. I'm not sure if that's baby cravings or just Vivian cravings though. I'm sure the ice cream is just me :)  When I suggested getting ice cream to Jensen he wanted some as bad as I did.

Baby Boy Room Ideas

1, 2, 3, 4, 5

I had a ton of ideas for what I wanted my baby's room to look like if I were having a girl (gold polka dots and floral prints!), so when I found out we were having a boy I had a harder time deciding what I wanted.  I think I have it mostly planned out, so now I just need to start getting some things and putting it together.  We already have a white crib and white shelf.  I want the room to be bright and bold and not too baby, and have hints of woodland animals without looking too themed.  Almost everything I'm picking for the room I would be ok to have in other parts of my house too, so my baby doesn't grow out of it too quickly.

Camping at Mirror Lake

For Jensen's birthday weekend in October we went up to Mirror Lake to go camping with a few of our friends.  It was a lot of fun, but much colder than we were expecting.  I checked the weather before we went and the site I checked said it was going to be in the upper 50s.  We got to Mirror Lake around 5 and it was already in the low 30s! And there was a few feet of snow everywhere.  Because it was so cold we ended up camping about 15 minutes down the road where the elevation was lower and there wasn't any snow on the ground, so it was a little bit warmer but still really cold.
Everything was frozen the next morning! Our whole campsite was covered in frost.  I think that morning and sleeping the night before was the worst part of camping because I so was uncomfortable and cold.  I kept waking up because I had to use the bathroom, but it was way too cold for me to get out of my warm sleeping bag and tent to go.  After we warmed up the next morning the rest of the trip was a lot of fun.
We took our canoe with us hoping to go fishing on the lake, but most of the lake was frozen over.  Jensen still tried to fish some, and got a few nibbles, but didn't catch anything.  It was too cold to have enough patience for fishing.
Devin, Julianne, and Jacquelyn came with us.  It was Jacquelyn's first camping trip, and she did great considering how cold it was!

At the end of our trip Jensen wanted to plan another camping trip for this winter.  I told him I'm done for the year, because it's getting way too cold, and my belly is getting too big so if he goes camping he'll have to find someone else to take. :)

Maternity Photo Shoot

Jensen and I went on a little drive back behind our house yesterday for a maternity photos shoot. Here's some of the pictures Jensen took. :)

Pregnancy Update

October 27th (25 weeks)
One thing no one tells you about getting pregnant is that not only will your stomach grow, your back will get fat too.  I think I noticed big love handles before my stomach really even started showing.  Now that I have a nice sized stomach I have a nice squishy lower back to go along with it.  So any of you ladies who haven't had a baby do not be alarmed when your back gets fat too, I'm pretty sure that's normal.

Another exciting update is I've finally caught up on my weight loss I had early in my pregnancy, and passed my pre-pregnancy weight! I've gained about 7 pounds total so far.

I've had a lot of people ask me if I have had any cravings.  No strong cravings really come to mind.  I do have a lot more food aversions though.  I'm pickier, but not nearly as bad as when I was feeling sick.  The texture of really soft bread grosses me out, even soft white tortillas are nasty to me.  I have also been drinking a lot of milk and can't get enough.  Chocolate milk is my favorite before bed snack.  And I'm really glad it's finally hot chocolate season so I can start drinking tons of that too. Yum!

I can feel my baby boy constantly now.  Sometimes he is moving around and kicking so much it makes me feel a little queasy, but I love to feel him.  Occasionally he kicks my bladder and that is not a pleasant feeling at all.  He seems to be sitting really low in my belly.  Sometimes when I lay down if I have an empty stomach my stomach still looks flat, and then there's a tiny baby ball right at the bottom.  It looks pretty strange.

Family Photos

Here's the very last post from this summer! While we were in Canada I took some family photos by the Cardston temple.
The family!  Except Dean, Andrew and their girls.  They moved to North Carolina in July so they made a trip up to Canada before their move and weren't able to come up when we were there.
The brothers
Sister in laws and Maeve
Jensen and me (and tiny baby bean!)
Daley and Desiree
Brynley, Ari, and Maeve
Mom and Dad
Morley and Kiera.  They were just dating during our trip, but are engaged now! I'm so excited to go up to Canada after Christmas for their wedding.

Maeve was making the cutest faces, so they get a lot of photos :)
