Fall is my favorite

I love fall! And it's finally coming! I just wish the fall weather would hurry up and get here. I am not ok with weather in the upper 80s at the end of September.
Here are some of my favorite pictures of the end of summer and first few days of fall.

Downtown

Before boating one day I wanted to show Jensen downtown Coeur d'Alene. I love walking around there and looking at the little shops and the board walk. One of the most fun shops to look around at is the toy store.
Jensen got bit by a bear! But don't worry... he survived.

Paul Bunyan Days

On Labor Day after we went boating we went to a little town about an hour from Coeur d'Alene for a fireworks show. The town was celebrating Paul Bunyan Days. We ate elephant ears (fried dough with cinnamon and sugar) as we sat on a football field while they shot the fireworks almost directly above our heads.

I love boating

I think the thing I was most excited to do when we were visiting my dad was to go boating. We got to go two days while we were visiting. The weather cooled down quite a bit just in time for our visit, so it was too cold to wake board, but we still went tubing and a lot of riding around. I love laying in the front of my dad's boat just enjoying the ride. We went to Hayden lake with my dad and Lisa and some of my aunts and uncle and cousins. It was so fun! And like the rest of Cour d'Alene this lake is beautiful! If only I had tons of money and could buy a big lake house :)
We almost fell off here. I squished Jensen when I landed.

Pig out in the Park

After we went 4-wheeling we went over to my Omi's house for dinner. That night we went to downtown Spokane to Pig out in the Park. I go to show Jensen the garbage eating goat that I loved when I was little and got to see when we visited Omi.

Four Wheeling!

Jensen really wanted to go four-wheeling when we went to visit my dad, so he borrowed two four-wheelers from my aunt for Jensen and I to use. Turns out I'm a terrible four-wheeler driver. This was my first time driving one by myself for longer than just a couple of minutes and I really don't like going down hill. About halfway through the ride I got pretty comfortable with the uphill part of the ride though.

Jensen's dirty face.
oops....
I'm not even sure how I crashed when this happened. We were headed back and it at this spot it was a strait shot downhill. I'm just so glad I didn't crash somewhere else. Every where else on the ride down didn't have any trees on the edge of the mountain like there were here.

Hiawatha

The first full day we were at my dad's we drove to Montana to hike the Hiawatha bike trail. We went with my dad and Lisa and my Aunt Tammy. It's a 13 mile ride on an old train track that goes through about 10 tunnels. The longest is over two miles long and it was freezing! The tunnels aren't lit either so it was a little disorienting. We had head lamps, but it still took a while for our eyes to adjust.
We got there around 3 and the last bus back to the top left at 4. We knew we wouldn't make it in time to ride the bus, but we thought the ride back up wouldn't be that bad. Boy were we wrong. When we got to the bottom we looked at the map and decided to take a much steeper short cut, but thought we would still save time. We though the ride back wouldn't be that bad, and would probably take about two hours total. I also had the thought after we reached the bottom that we should have parked at the bottom and rode the bus to the top to begin with. Then when we were done with the ride we could just get in our car and head home. Too bad that thought came 13 miles too late. It would have saved us so much time and trouble.
When we started heading back we left Lisa and Aunt Tammy at the bottom and Jensen, my dad and I started going up. A couple miles into the trip back my dad and I were way too tired and too slow, so we gave Jensen the truck keys and let him go ahead of us because we knew he would be able to get to the truck faster. The ride back ended up being 9 miles (we were thinking probably 5 looking at the map short cut- it apparently wasn't to scale), and it was terrible. I felt soooo bad for Jensen because my dad and I were too weak and hungry so we stopped at some buses to wait for Jensen. When he finally got back with the truck he was exhausted along with everyone else.
In the car ride back Jensen and I were both feeling woozy because of low blood sugar from not eating for so long. My body started to shut down, it was so weird. While I was sitting there my arms and legs started to go numb and then my arms and my fingers were completely frozen. That really freaked me out. When that happend the first thing we did was find somewhere to get some juice for me and Jensen. We stopped at a little gas station and got some orange juice. Pretty quickly after that I started feeling better and regained movement in my hands. Overall the ride was beautiful and fun (as long as I don't think about the ride back up). Next time we go we'll be sure to get an early start.

See how happy we look before the start of the ride ;)
We saw a moose before reaching the trail! He was licking the salt off the rocks.
Here's the beginning of our ride! It was so beautiful up in those mountains. The first tunnel on the trail was the longest. And it was freezing! We could even see our breath inside. The light at the end of the tunnel! We also went over a lot of trestle on our ride. They were so high up in the hills.
While passing over one of the trestles we stopped for a snack and made a little friend.
Look at that view!

Coeur d'Alene!

My puppy was so happy to see me! It had been 3 years! Isn't he cute? :)

Red Rock Canyon

Prepare yourself for a picture overload! One of the last days in Canada we hiked Red Rock Canyon in Waterton. I was expecting to hike around the top of the canyon, but we hiked through it, and it was so pretty!
Morley stayed completely dry the entire hike! It was impressive. He had to make some pretty big jumps and scale walls to not get in the water.Jensen was crazy! By the end of the hike we were all pretty chilly from getting in the cold water, and the air was starting to get cold. Even though it was cold Jensen still wanted to slide down the rock slide. When he hit the pool of water at the end I got a big splash of water too.

Game Night, Girls Night, and Off- Roading!

For game night we played a game with questions about Morley that we had to guess what his answer would be to get to know him better. We also played a game where everyone had to guess if different facts were about Brynley, Desiree, or me. That was pretty entertaining, especially because our husbands were the ones to pick the facts that were shared about us.
One day we were there we all took our trucks and went off-roading and stopped for a nice picnic.
Nissan ad?While the boys went gopher hunting the girls stayed back for some crafting. We decorated picture frames for the family photos we took while we were there. Kayla and Alyssa even joined in and decorated some foam hearts. When the boys came back we had them guess who made which picture frames. I was surprised how well they knew who made what just by how we placed our stickers.
