Antelope Island

I really should be asleep right now, but instead I'm blogging because I've been so bad at it lately! Jensen had a few days off in a row this week (a rare occurrence) so we went up to Antelope Island. This was actually a few days ago on Dunken's first birthday!  I can't believe my baby is one!

It's about an hour and a half away and neither Jensen nor I had ever been.  It's also been crazy warm for January, so the weather was perfect for a little family outing.
We drove a little around the island and stopped for a quick hike.  Dunken loved being in his carrier and getting to see everything.  Jensen kicked rocks on the way and Dunken was laughing his head off at him.
Out little buddy sure loves his dad.

The cutest kid

I don't know how it's possible, but Dunken gets cuter and cuter every day.  Here's some of my favorite phone pictures I've taken of him lately.

He loves bath time more than any other part of the day, he loves Pigeon and attacking her, chasing her, climbing on top of her.  Sadly this is a one sided relationship.  He's also been much better at naps lately! The majority of his naps were about 30 minutes each. Sometimes less sometimes more, but lately he naps a full hour and a half! Of course he naps better when he's joined by mom or dad. :)  (I hope i didn't jinx myself by writing that!)  He's definitely a cuddler.  Most days he's not completely content unless he's on my lap or I'm holding him.  As annoying as it can be, I sure love my time with Dunken and know this won't last forever.

Dunken from my phone

I kind of forgot about this little blog for the past few weeks.  There hasn't been too much going on around here lately.  Christmas went by way too fast, and for winter the weather is way too warm! As excited as I am for spring and being able to play outside with Dunken a little later in the year, I still wish it were cold and snowy right now!  Here's some pictures of Dunken from my phone around Christmas time.  The first is from Suz's house when they first moved in, Dunken helping me with the Christmas lights, Dunken waking up as happy as can be, and Dunken exploring Barnes and Noble.

Dunken and his Jeep

I went to a photography class last week to learn how to use your camera on manual mode, so I've been trying to practice with Dunken.  It's hard to do with a moving baby, but I think I'm getting better at it, and I think my photos are improving!

Christmas in Canada from my phone

Here's some more pictures from our trip to Canada from my phone.  Dunken was so happy to be out of the car when we first arrived.  He loved playing the piano with me, but was not a fan of the harness for the high chair.  The wood burning stove fascinated him, and he loved playing on his new drum set!

Christmas Morning

Christmas morning with Dunken was so much fun! He was spoiled by all of his grandparents.  Jensen and I got him a drum set and he loved it.  I'll post some pictures later of him drumming :) He also got a little ride on jeep from his Opa and Nana, and a Little People Nativity Set from Jensen's parents.
He made the best faces when opening his presents.
Just a little wrapping paper snack.
We spent the day hanging out and watching Dunken play with his new toys.  And we got to Skype with Oakley! He's on a mission right now in New York (actually currently serving in Bermuda, which is part of his mission!)  It was really nice to be able to talk to him.  He's doing great.

Christmas Eve!

Dunken and Dad opening his pajamas.
After pajamas Dunken wanted to open more presents ;)
On Christmas Eve we ate soup and bread bowls and then opened our Christmas pajamas.  Dunken and I got matching elf jammies :).  I'll probably get matching pajamas for as long as my kids will let me. It's just too much fun.

Christmastime with family

I think I said this earlier, but since Jensen and I have been married we've spent every Christmas at home with just the two of us, so being able to go up to see his family was extra nice.  As Jensen family gets bigger getting together gets more and more fun! Last year two babies joined the family and Morley and Kira got married just over a year ago. I can't wait until everyone is married and has babies!

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

Winter was unseasonably warm in Utah, and before Christmas was in the 50s.  I love winter and loooove snow and was hoping for a white Christmas in Canada.  There was a little old snow on the ground when we got to Canada, and it snowed on Christmas eve!  Jensen, his dad, Dunken, and I went to Waterton the afternoon of Christmas eve to see some snow and drive around a little.  The town shuts down in winter, but it's still really pretty.  And it snowed for us while we were there!

Christmas Dinner

Jensen and I were able to go to Canada this year for Christmas.  Most of his siblings came too, but had to leave before Christmas day so we celebrated with them a little early.  The first night everyone was there we had Christmas dinner!  I wanted to dress up, so I made Dunken dress up too so I wasn't the only one ;)

Dunken meets Santa

In December Jensen and I went to the Riverwoods so Dunken could meet Santa.  He did really good!  He usually loves other people, so I wasn't too worried about what his reaction would be.  After he met Santa we went to Blickenstaff's and played with the toys.  Christmas was seriously so fun with a baby!

An update from my phone

Here's a few pictures from the very end of December and first week of January.
My little Dunken bear playing in the snow.  He couldn't move very well in this, so he wasn't a huge fan.
I have the cutest shopping partner.
This boy loves to hold on to my hair, and play with the dishes.
LOOK AT THAT FACE! He kills me.
Jensen had to work so he wasn't at my uncle's to celebrate New Years with us, so Dunken was my new years kiss (at like 9pm). Happy New Year!

Tree Decorating!

Christmas is over. Cue the tears.  This is my favorite time of year and always goes by way too fast.  Jensen and I were able to visit his family in Canada this year for Christmas, and then I came to Idaho to visit my mom for New Year's, but that didn't stop me from decorating my own house first.  Most of my decorations were up long before Thanksgiving :).  I do wait until December to decorate the tree, and that's when it really starts to feel like Christmas.  Dunken was fascinated by all the lights.  It's been so fun this holiday season to share all of our traditions and experiences with Dunken.
