Quinn's birth!

Finally! Some pictures from our stay in the hospital when Quinn was born.  It's amazing how different she already looks, and she's not quite two months old yet.  She's just two days old in these pictures.
I don't really have much of a birth story to share.  I was induced, so on the way to the hospital it didn't feel like I would be leaving with a baby in just a few days.  Jensen and I stayed the night with Suzanne the night before because she lives closer to the hospital than us, and she was going to watch Dunken the next day.

We got to the hospital at 6 and filled out some paperwork and they started to get my IV ready.  I was already dilated to a 4 which was awesome!  They started the pitocin around 8, so my contractions slowly started.  I tried to hold off for a while before I got an epidural, even though I knew I was going to get one.  Around 9:30 my contractions hurt pretty bad so I decided it was time.  The anesthesiologist came in just before 10 and then sweet relief :).  Just after 10am Dr. McCarter came in to check how far along I was, and I was at 5cm.  He came back an hour later and I had already progressed to 10 cm, so it was time to push!  4 minutes later, and only pushing for 3 contractions Quinn arrived!

  1. Believe it or not, just this morning I woke up thinking "I haven't read a birth story in a while. I hope I can read one soon." Yep that is the truth. Also, did you know that the top of your blog says extraodrinary? I wasn't sure if that was on purpose so I thought I'd mention it.
