Four Generations

I really wanted a picture with my grandma, mom, me, and Dunken while we were visiting North Carolina.  Here's our best attempts.
My mom was not in a "sit down and smile for a picture" mood.  Grandma was not amused.
She's crazy but I love her.
They're getting worse.
Trying a more serious face.
My mom took a break to try and calm down.
This one will have to do ;)

A trip to the Outer Banks

It's not a trip to North Carolina without going to the beach.  The day we went was overcast, a little rainy, and pretty chilly.  When we first go to the beach we caught some bait for fishing.  The end of the pier my uncle was fishing off was super windy and cold, so we didn't stick around very long.
After bait catching and the pier we did some touristy shopping and went out for lunch.  This was Jordans' first time to the Atlantic ocean, so even though it was chilly he still wanted to swim.  Because it was the end of September and the ocean had been warming up all summer long, it was still pretty warm even with the colder air.  We headed back to the beach so Jordan, Suz, and Toby could swim.  It was too cold for Dunken so I stayed out with him and watched the crazies swim.
Maybe next time we visit Dunken and I will be able to swim too!

Pasquotank River

One thing on our list to do when visiting North Carolina was to go to the Pasquotank River.  The river is brown because of all the cypress trees, so most people don't like to swim in it (it stains swimsuits too. yuck!), but when I was younger I loved swimming there!  Suz and I went with Jordan and Dunken.  We didn't even end up swimming.  It's been a long time since we swam in the brown water and because we couldn't see the bottom we were afraid to get in.
Jordan exploring in the cypress trees.
Dunken slept the whole way to the river and most of the time while we were there.
He had fun kicking his toes in the water.

Waterfront Park

While we were in North Carolina Suzanne and I went with Dunken and Jordan down to Waterfront Park in Elizabeth City and walked around for a little while.  I don't have much to say about it, so enjoy the pictures!

9 Months

Well I missed 8 months, so here is an update on 9!

Dunken is 9 months old and starting to look like such a little boy! (cue the tears)  He scoots and drags himself around all the time.  He hasn't really started crawling with his belly up yet, but he will rock when he is up on all fours.  He says, "Dadadada" all the time and clicks his tongue.  He will scoot over to Jensen and I and pull on us to pick him up.  He has just started getting his top tooth! That one was a doozy when it was coming through.  Lots bad nights sleep and he got pretty sick from it. :(  Since the tooth came through he has also stopped sleeping through the night!  Even though he pretty much sleeps like a newborn again he is still the cutest and most fun little guy to hang out with all day.

He took his 9 month doctor appointment like a champ.  He weighs 18 pounds and is in the 25th percentile for weight, and 90s for head size and height!
