Shoshone Falls

Here's some pictures from going to Shoshone Falls in Idaho.  Grey was a popular color to wear that day.
After we went to the falls we went to a little park up the road where we saw lots of animals.
Jensen has been wanting to go off roading for a while, but we are having a hard time finding anywhere to go around here.  There was a few tiny trails near the falls so Jensen took small detours whenever we passed one.  We even saw a snake on one of the trails!

Family!

My Uncle Jimmy's in Twin Falls is probably one of my favorite places to visit.  He has 10 kids and lives on a farm so it's always a lot of fun and tons to do.  About half of his kids are married now, so not everyone is home anymore, but last weekend everyone came to visit to since my cousin Nathan just got back from his mission.
Here's the Hughes clan.  All of Uncle Jimmy's kids (except Josh, he was inside during the photos so we had to retake them... I just didn't get any of round two), their spouses, and grand kids.

All the girl cousins who were there.

Me, Mama, and Granny!

Surprise Visit

Last weekend my Mama flew out to Idaho to visit my uncle for my cousin's mission homecoming talk.  My grandma and uncle from North Carolina have already been out there visiting for a few weeks.  My grandma though Nicole should come in from North Carolina since so much of our family would be there. Nicole, Suz, and I decided we should all go out together and surprise my mom.  I had to work that Saturday so my mom thought I wouldn't be able to make it to Idaho, and she had no idea Nicole was going to be there.  It was a great surprise!  Before we went out to Idaho we took some photos in the apple orchards in Provo to give to my mom and grandma for a late mother's day present.

Anniversary

Yesterday was Jensen and my two year anniversary!  I can't believe we have already been married for two years.  About a month ago I bought a plane ticket to come out to California to visit Dena, Jensen's sister, and when I was looking at dates to come I totally forgot about our anniversary.  The only celebration we had yesterday was Jensen driving me to the airport at 6am.  Oops.  I promised Jensen I would make it up to him by making him really yummy dinner after I got back.

Last week we did have a pre-anniversary celebration though.  I won a photo session from Sami Jo Photography at the BYU blogger meet up in March.  Sami Jo is up in Logan so I thought it would be fun to go  up on a day we both have off work and spend the day there together.  Logan is where Jensen and I got married, and we ended up doing the photo shoot the week before our anniversary so it worked out perfect!  I love them!  You can see a few more on Sami's blog here.

I'm not sure if Jensen even reads my blog that often but Happy Anniversary to my love!

(Attempted) Free-Lensing

I read a tutorial a few weeks ago about free lensing photography, so when Jensen were on a bike ride I decided to try it myself.  It's when you hold the lens of your camera close to the camera body, but it's not attached.  It allows you to have only a portion of the photo on focus.  The only thing I could get it to work on were things up close, like my feet and the grass. Whenever I tried farther away everything was blurry.  Go here to read more about it and see some photos by someone who actually knows what they're doing :)

It's the Weekend!

Happy Weekend! I have high hopes for how well I'm going to use my time today, and a long list of things to get done.  Jensen and I went to the Provo City Center Temple ground breaking this morning, and then I went to a stake Relief Society luncheon.  It was nice to have so much spiritual uplift to start my day.  After those activities I came home and napped for an hour and a half.  Hopefully after I finish this post I'll actually start getting things done. :) On Monday I start working until after 9 for the next little while, so I need to start applying for jobs again.  It's probably my second least favorite thing to do in the world (my first is dishes).  And then I'm going out of town soon! (To Idaho to see my family then to California!) and since I'll be working so late I know cleaning won't be happening during the week, so I plan to get a lot of that done today.
I hope you all have a great weekend!

Tradition Tradition!

Jensen and I have started a nightly bike ride and get ice cream tradition.  So far this week we've done it twice. I'm a huge fan.  Last night we road around Springville trying to find a Snow Cone stand that was open, but had no luck.  Instead we stopped at the grocery store on the way home and got some ice cream.  I'm hoping this becomes a regular activity this spring and summer. I'm sure Jensen won't complain.

PS. If my blog title made you think of the song/movie I was hoping it would make you think of you get 2 cool points.

Monday Bike Ride

Look at that handsome man!
Jensen has been wanting a new mountain bike for the longest time and he finally got one today, so we took our bikes out for a little spin when I got off work.  We rode from our house up Hobble Creek Canyon.  It was such a nice day! Living in Utah one of the things I miss the most about North Carolina is all of trees.  The bike path we were on was surrounded by trees on either side, and even though the trees were much shorter than back home, it still reminded me a little of the tree sounded streets there.  While we were on our ride we even found a little secret dirt path down to the stream that follows the road.  We're going to have to go back there to have a bonfire later this summer.

Breakfast for Dinner

I'm more of a salty breakfast kind of girl (biscuits and gravy please), but when it comes to sweet breakfast foods I love crepes! I think it's because I always make sure to have fruit, whipped cream, and of course nutella, with them.  Jensen and I have breakfast for dinner at least once a week.. because it's yummy, easy, and I'm never up early enough to make nice breakfasts for breakfast...and this week we had crepes. Yum!
