Bandelier

Our second day in New Mexico we went to Bandelier National Monument.  It was amazing! I had no idea what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised.  It's where Pueblo people lived thousands of years ago.  A volcano erupted millions of years ago and left ash that hardened and created hole-y rock side that they carved out to create cave like homes.

It was pretty icey.
This is where the Pueblo people built a city center that had hundreds of little rooms made of rock.  It even had multiple layers some below and above the ground.  The small circle of bricks in the center of ring of rooms is a Kiva where they performed religious ceremonies.
