Bridal Shower

Last weekend I threw Suzanne's bridal shower. It was a lot of fun!
We played a game where everyone had to draw a picture of what Suzanne would look like on her wedding, but they had to draw above their head.
I think my favorite part of the shower was the questions I asked Jordan that Suz had to guess his answer. here were some of my favorites...

How many boys has she kissed?
Not sure how many boys, but only one man.

What is your favorite thing about suz (physical and non physical)?
Her sha-na-na-nas! (her shoulders) …The corner of her mouth when she’s not quite yet smiling

What is her favorite thing about you (physical and non)?
Probably my many beard and huge muscles.

What does she want to name your first kid?
Probably something weird like ambrosia or saffron or something.

What does she want to be when she grows up?
That old lady on the street that has WAY to many cats and people talk to each other about whether or not they should call animal control. I mean, she is an old lady and loves those cats and no one wants to take them away from her, but no one should be living with THAT many cats.…oh, and they ALL sleep in her bed with her at night…and purr in unison.

You had a birthday shout hurray!

Jensen turned 30, and now he's an old man! For his birthday I made chocolate cake and we went up to Park City to celebrate. We got some yummy pizza and then went to the Warren Miller skiing show.

Sundance

Jensen and I went on a drive up to Sundance on Sunday to enjoy the fall leaves before they all fell off the trees. I had never seen Sundance not covered in snow, so it was neat to see the landscape that stays hidden in winter.

Canadian Thanksgiving

Here's some pictures from our Canadian Thanksgiving celebration. Jensen and I had some of our friends over to celebrate with us. Having two Thanksgivings is the best! I think my granny's sweet potato casserole is one of my most favorite foods, and now I get to have it one more time during the year. Jensen doesn't like it either so I get it all to myself. Yum! Kiki, Nat, and Dan came over ate and played games with us.

Birthday Boy

Happy birthday to the best husband anyone could ask for. I love you so much! Thank you for all the fun things you do with me. I love our bike rides and walks and how much you make me laugh. I'm excited for our future together and to have lots of babies with you! Hope you had the best birthday ever.

summer picnic

A little while ago Jensen and I went on a picnic up Provo canyon. It was a beautiful, cool, summer night with some yummy sandwiches and hohos.

Pumpkin patch

Jensen and I went to a pumpkin patch down the road from us to pick a pumpkin to carve. It had a mini petting zoo (with a kangaroo!), a corn kernel sand box, and a hay maze! The kangaroo looked so sad in his cage all hunched over walking in circles. I think he wanted to be out hopping around. A lot of the pumpkins had been picked, but Jensen and I were able to find ourselves a nice big pumpkin.

Apple Orchard

Jensen and I went to the apple orchard a couple weeks ago just to take some pictures. It's so neat there. This is where we had our bridals taken when we got married, only then it was full of blossoms instead of apples. There's always tons of deer there too.

Best Thursday Ever!

Last Thursday Jensen and I were both of work so we spent the day in Salt Lake. He bought me a coupon to get a manicure and pedicure so we went to get that done first. After we went to Chipotle for some yummy burritos and then we went shopping! It was a really cold and raining day (it even snowed a little on our way up) but it was a lot of fun.

Yum! I ate my whole burrito!
I got myself some fuzzy slippers to keep my toes warm in my cold house.

Acorn Ornament Tutorial

Today was our first day of cold fall weather. I even saw snow on some cars on the freeway, and the mountains have snow on them! Here's a little tutorial to make some cute fall ornaments. This is a great use for fabric scraps and it doesn't take much time at all. I think these would also be cute if made with Christmas colored fabric for a Christmas tree!
happy first day of fall!

Supplies:
-fabric scraps
- acorns
- string
- fluff
- sewing machine or just a needle and thread
- scissors and a hot glue gun

First gather some acorns and fall colored scraps of fabric. I found these when Jensen and I were going on a Sunday walk a few weeks ago.
Remove the bottom of the acorn from the top, if there are any still attached.
Cut out two little half ovals from each scrap of fabric, about an inch by an inch.
Next with right sides together sew the rounded edge of the scraps together, leaving the flat part open. I did this with a sewing machine, but this could easily be hand sewn together. (If you're a new sewer like me it might take you a few tries to get make it a round shape because the scraps are so small :) )
Trim the edges.
Then you will turn your fabric right side out, stuff it with your fluff, and hot glue it to the acorn top. Mine ended up being a little too long so I trimmed quite a bit of the top before I glued it in place. I would recommend placing the fabric part into the acorn top to see how it looks before gluing.
Almost done!
Cut some string about 4 inches long. Then place a dot of hot glue on the top of the acorn near the center. I found it easier to glue the string on before it was tied, and tie it after the glue dries. After the glue dries tie the string and display them in your house!
Finished!

Double Thanksgiving

Being married to a Canadian is the best. It means we get two Thanksgivings! I went to Ross last weekend and got myself some things to make a nice little table setting, and now I'm ready to celebrate this Monday. These are two reasons why I love fall... all the pretty decorations and Thanksgiving (twice!).

Etsy!

For those of you who don't know.... I have an etsy shop! You can see my stuff (and buy my stuff) at vivileen.etsy.com. Right now I have some little make up pouches and earrings for sale. I'm thinking about adding some other things, but I just have to make them first :).
