Cuddly Baby

While we were in North Carolina Dunken got pretty sick, which mean terrible sleep at night, and a really cuddly baby.  His great grandma and aunt Nicole couldn't get enough of him.

Sand Dune Arch

The friends we went to Moab with had never been to Arches National Park so we spent a little time there while in Moab.  We first went to the North and South Window, which are some of my favorite arches.  I love sitting at the top and looking through the arch for as far as you can see.

Jensen and I have gone to Arches National Park quite a few times, so we wanted to go to an arch we had never seen before.  After seeing the North and South Window we went to Sand Dune Arch.  I think it's one of my favorites now! It is a short sandy walk to the arch and so cool.  It's a lot smaller than the others, and you can even climb on top of it!

Dunken's first plane ride

At the end of September, Dunken and I took a trip to North Carolina to visit my grandma and older sister.  We flew from Salt Lake to Denver by ourselves, and met my sister and her husband at the Denver airport.  It was so nice to have them on the longer flight from Denver to the Newport News airport.  Suzanne's husband Jordan is one of Dunken's favorite people so Dunken was more than happy to play with him on the plane.

Dunken did great on the flights!  I made sure to nurse him as we were taking off to help relieve the pressure in his ears, and it must have helped.  There was no crying!  I also brought a variety of toys for him so he would stay entertained.  My water bottle was probably the best toy though :).  I definitely overpacked the diaper bag for traveling.  I brought way too many diapers and extra clothes "just in case".  I also brought every medicine, cream, and spray I thought there was even a small chance of him needing, and ended up using none of them.  Better safe than sorry though I guess.  If I fly again while Dunken is still really little I will be bringing a lot less on the flight with us.

It was so nice for Dunken to be able to crawl across all three of our laps on the longer flight so he didn't get too bored.  The flights home were a little harder because they were so late at night.  We didn't leave North Carolina until almost 6pm and our flight to Denver had to take an hour and a half detour because of storms.  He was still a champ though and barely cried or even fussed while on the plane.  The last flight wasn't until 10pm (midnight Eastern time), so Dunken slept the whole time.  Whenever he woke up for any reason he was as happy as could be and would fall right back to sleep.

Downtown Moab

The weather in the evenings while we were in Moab was so nice!
We went walking around downtown and there were quite a few artists painting different buildings and scenes along Main Street.

Cascade Springs

Every year during Fall we drive to Cascade Springs to look at all the changing leaves.  This year we went a little late, so most of them had already turned brown and dropped.  It was still really pretty though.

Dunken was not a fan of the running water and held on pretty tight to Jensen and I when we were near it.

Jeeping in Moab

Jensen's favorite place to visit is Moab, so we usually go a few times a year.  We went around his birthday for a few days of camping and Jeeping.  Jeeping is one of my least favorite things, but I love camping and spending all that time with my family so I try to be a good sport and go along.
Dunken is such a good sport on the long Jeep rides.

This trip we had the best campsite! It was tuck away in the Slickrock and was nice and sandy!

Hiking Timpanogos Caves

About a month ago Jensen, Dunken, and I hiked the Timpanogos Caves.  It was a really neat hike.  It's only about 30 minutes from where we live, so I can't believe we've never done it before!
Dunken did really well on the hike.  The hike up to the caves took almost exactly an hour, and the hike through the caves was about an hour and a half.  Our tour guide was very chatty, so I think our hike through them was longer than most.  Dunken didn't get fussy until the very end of the tour, and was as happy as could be on the way back down.
Jensen and I hiked the caves around 11, and I'm so glad we did.  The hike up was pretty steep, but because the sun was still behind the mountain we were in the shade the whole way up.  On our way back down there was a lot more sun shining on us, and people we passed who were on their way up did not look so happy.  We also stopped before we reached the caves so I could feed Dunken because a full belly makes a happy baby.

Bath Time

Dunken loves bath time.  Most nights he kicks and splashes in the tub and gets me soaked too.  Now that he's getting older he will reach up toward me and kind of try to climb out of the tub when he is done.  It's the cutest thing.

My favorite season

Fall is here!  That means cooler weather, sweaters, warm baths, and yummy candles.  Jensen and I have been making the most of the season with lots of trips up the canyon.  I'm pretty sure fall is Dunken's favorite season too.
Fist bump for Fall. ;)
