goin' for the gold

Jensen and I had date night last night. We've been talking about going ice skating for forever and we finally went! Jensen likes to show off his skating skills because he's Canadian and Canadians are supposed to be great ice-skaters. But I beat him at one footed coasting contest which was pretty awesome. I think it's just because I have better balance though, not because I skate better.

Also I painted my nails gold. I kinda love them.

Lava Cake

I had a craving for some lava cake a few weeks ago so I finally decided to try to make some and to my surprise they were super easy to make! It's also a great dessert to make if you want to impress your hunny! Jensen loved them, but he loves chocolate more than any person I know and he's not picky so he's probably not the best judge of how good they are. They're delicious, look super fancy, and really easy to make. They're even better when topped with a little powdered sugar, vanilla ice cream, or whipped cream. Yum!!!
I adapted my recipe from Paul Deen's Molten Lava Cake.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 10 tablespoons (1 1/4 stick butter)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Grease 6 (6-ounce) ramekins. ** Melt the chocolate chips and butter in the microwave, at thirty second intervals, stirring each time. Add the flour, sugar, and salt to the chocolate mixture. Stir in the eggs and yolks until smooth. Stir in the vanilla. Divide the batter evenly among the ramekins. Place in the oven and bake for 12-14 minutes. The edges should be firm, but the center will by runny. Run a knife around the edges to loosen and invert onto dessert plates. Enjoy!

** I don't have any ramekins, so I just used my small pyrex round dishes and they worked great. I'm sure a large muffin pan would work as well, it would just be harder to invert onto individual plates.

Cat Medicine

If you give a cat medicine she will spit it out on you. She will also get mad at you. If you try to trick her and put it in milk she will sniff the milk and not drink.

Eventually she will forgive and fall asleep upside down on your tummy.

And just for clarification Pigeon is not a demon cat and she does not have rabies. She got fixed and when I give her medicine she makes her mouth foam up so she can more easily spit on me.

Me and my kitty

Here's me and my kitty, Pigeon. She's actually my sister's, but my sister can't have cats at her house and she got caught so I've had her for about 6 months now. I hope on day she's mine forever. She's pretty much the cutest most cuddly cat ever. As I type this she's asleep curled up next to me in bed.

It's me!

Hi. This is my blog, mostly I'll just be sharing my every day with maybe some cooking and some crafts. Hope you enjoy!
