Salt Lake Temple

The main thing on Desiree's list that she really wanted to do while they were visiting was to go to the Salt Lake temple, so that was the first thing we did.  I always love going to the temple and even with so many close to us out in Utah I don't go often enough.  We went up to Salt Lake to go to the temple and out to eat after.  The weather was amazing and the the temple was beautiful.

3 years

Happy 3rd anniversary to the best husband I could ask for!  I remember when we first got married and some of our friends had been married for three years and that sounded like so long!  Well we made it to three and it really isn't so long after all.  It sure has been a great three years and each year married to you seems to get better and better.
Dear Husband,
I sure do love you.
I love you for being a worthy priesthood holder.
I love you for scratching my back at church.
I love you for always taking out the trash.
I love you for always picking up after yourself, especially since I'm not so good at that :)
I love you for crying during movies like Brother Bear.
I love that you still like Ace of Base and dance with me in the car.
I love you for going slow down ski hills and bike trails with me so I'm not left behind.
I love you for hugging me from behind while I'm cooking.
I love you for being so cute when you sleep so I can take pictures of you ;)
I love you for not thinking I'm silly when I cry about everything.
I love you for liking all dinners I cook for you, even the gross ones.
I love you for all of those reasons and many more.  Here's to three years!
Love Viv

Daley and Desiree came to town!

Last week Jensen and I both took a few days off work to spend time with Daley and Desiree (Jensen's brother and wife).  It was a lot of fun to have them visit.  They came from California where they were visiting Dena and Andrew so I was a little nervous that Utah would seem boring in comparison.  Luckily California wore them out, so they were ok with taking it pretty easy here.  Here's a few pictures from my phone I took during their trip.  I took a bunch more on my camera so I'll be posting more later.
We spent most of out time up in Salt Lake going to the temple and to Temple Square.  The temple is beautiful in spring! Jensen and I usually only go up to Temple Square during Christmas so I haven't seen it in a while when it's warm and sunny and surrounded by flowers.
We also ate delicious Mexican food at the Red Iguana.  I first heard of the Red Iguana on Diners, Dive Ins, and Drives on the Food Network and everything looked so delicious on that episode so I was excited to try it.  They did not disappoint.
Down in Provo we went to Beehive Bazaar.  I love going there every spring and fall and always want a million things.  I walked away empty handed, but it will still be going on next weekend, so I think I will stop by again.

Antiquing

A couple weekends ago I went to a few antique stores near my house.  I saw a lot of neat things, but nothing I couldn't live without.

An eggnog bottle! I've never seen one before so I thought that was really neat. Jensen loves eggnog so I wanted to buy it for him, but $15 for a bottle is just too much.
Every year Jensen's family has a family reunion up in Logan.  His Aunt Loye makes hommade rootbeer for everyone in miniature Pop bottles like the ones in this picture.

Conference Weekend

At the beginning of April Jensen's parents come down for a short visit that happened to be over conference weekend.  They got here Wednesday evening and left Saturday morning.  It was nice to have them come, but I do wish they could have stayed a little longer.  Jensen's mom is from Logan, and most of her siblings still live around there so on Friday afternoon we drove up to Logan and had a big family dinner.  I felt a little like Jensen and I were crashing a sibling party because there were a ton of Clarice's siblings and spouses there, and Jensen and I.  It was so nice to see everyone. Even though we don't live very far from Logan I don't see his aunts and uncles very often and I love his family.

Jensen and I stayed the night at Aunt Loye's house with his parents and left Saturday morning.  We drove around Logan and went to the house Jensen's mom grew up in and to his uncle's dairy.  The baby cows were so cute!  We also stopped by Gossner's dairy and stocked up on chocolate milk.  After visiting Logan we headed down to Brigham City and walked around the new temple grounds and tabernacle.  We made on last stop at Aunt Helen's in Willard to have lunch and to hear Cami and Zane announce the sex of their baby. (A boy!)
Sometimes I get a little sad because Jensen and I are far from most of our family, but it's nice to know so many aunts, uncles, and cousins are just a two hour drive away.
