General Conference

I love conference weekend! Being able to listen to our prophet speak is a great blessing. Go here if you want to listen. Today I stayed home to watch conference, but I think Jensen and I are going up to Salt Lake tomorrow to see if we can get in to watch.

It's Monday

It's already Monday. That means back to work. Boo. And this Monday also brought with it a mini windy snowy storm. I was not a fan.

Did you guys go see Hunger Games this weekend? I did! I though it was great (If you can call a movie about children having to kill each other great?) Anyway, I thought it was really well done. Jensen, who didn't read the books, didn't quite know what to think of it. He did like laughing at me during the movie because I was crying so much. Silly boy.

Springtime Snowboarding

Jensen and I went snowboarding today for probably the last time this season. It was a ton of fun (the fact that it was 65 degrees and sunny helped with that)! I am really proud of myself for how well I did today. Usually something inside of my gets me really scared and nervous so I don't try doing anything difficult, but today I just went for it! Now I'm going to get some much needed sleep. Hope you all have a happy Friday!

I was made for sunny days

Happy second day of spring! I can't believe it's already the end of March. I feel like Christmas was just a few weeks ago. If you want to listen to a happy song that's great to listen to in the beautiful spring weather listen to this one by the Weepies, one of my favorite artists when I'm in the mood for softer music.

Weekend

Dena, Andrew, Kayla and Alyssa came last weekend to visit and to go to Dena's art show in Salt Lake. It was fun having them here, but I wish they could have come for a longer trip. Here's a few pics from their short visit.

Kayla and Alyssa had fun in the kid's section at the exhibit.

Easy Peasy Wall Art

(they don't look centered, but I promise they are! It's just because of the angle of the picture)
My bathroom needed a little something to make the plain white walls less boring. I found some great shadow box frames at DI for $3 so I made simple art to hang up.

Materials:
frames
scrapbook paper
modge podge
scissors
ruler
white acrylic paint
1. Remove back panel of frames. Mine were wood so I started out by painting them white. Let them dry before moving on the the second step. If yours are already white, or you want to keep them wood, you won't need to paint them.
2. Measure the size of the back of the frame. Then cut your scrapbook paper to be one inch smaller on all 4 sides. (My frame was 13 inches wide, so I cut the paper to be 11 inches wide. The frame was 8 inches tall, so I cut the paper to be 6 inches tall.)
3. Modge podge the scrapbook paper onto the back panels of the frames, make sure it's centered. Let the modge podge dry.
4. Reassemble your frames and hang them up!

The Little Things

Sunday was such a nice day! And an extra hour of sunlight made it even better. To celebrate the warm and sunshine Jensen and I had a picnic in our front yard after church. We even took a mini nap outside on the blanket. At church yesterday we had stake conference. Our stake president talked about "The Little Things". I think enjoying each other's company and the nice weather is a "little thing" worth celebrating.
My sister-in-law Dena designed business cards for me! She's a great painter and illustrator. She makes me want to paint more often since I rarely do anymore. I went to a blogger meet up a few weeks ago and a ton of people there asked me for my card, but I didn't have any to give them. I went to another blogger event tonight, so before the event I made sure to have some cards to hand out. I love they way they turned out! (And they look even better printed!)

She's coming just for a few days with her family next week for an art show and award ceremony in Salt Lake for a painting of the Nauvoo temple that was accepted to this years show Make Known His Wonderful Works. I'm excited to see her and my cute nieces, and Andrew too :).

Aristocrats and Zombies Don't Mix

This week I started watching Dowton Abbey on Netflix and finished season 1 in three days. Jensen was in bed next to me while I was watching and said, "What are you watching? It's so boring. All they do is talk."

This week Jensen started watching Walking Dead and finished season 1 in three days. We're trying to find a show we both like and can watch together so I started watching with him. After 5 minutes of scary, bloody zombies I decided that show was not for me because 1) it's really gross and 2) I get nightmares way too easy.

We decided we should stick to AFV when we're watching Netflix together.

I want to ride my bicycle

Spring is on it's way which means it's time for Sunday afternoon bike rides! As much as I'm sad to say goodbye to the snow and snowboarding, I'm looking forward to spring time weather and longer days.
